Decay in Bloom by Fallon Ruth Parsons
We don’t need higher walls
We need deeper roots
In the cracks of concrete
A seed breaks loose
Stuck in a cage
Rotting away
But never let the rot
Decay you away
Decay becomes soil
Broken down and nourished more than ever
Not just rotten, spoiled
Bring in the books
Or a garden
Let them cook
Not just a simple pardon
Inside the gates
Deceived by hate
Are people…
Chained by pain
Give them a chance
A plan
Second tries
A spark of light
Reforming the system
Giving them wisdom
A season of growth
Without loathe
The outside world may see a man confined
But freedom still grows within the mind
Stripped down to numbers bound by bars
Souls will continue to blossom behind bars
